Beauty is inside you.

Also to add to what my comrade posted, rock on Troian Bellisario for just being you and writing a bomb instagram post. We need more of this from celebrities, not tutorials on how to contour and highlight to look more 'perfect.'

I hope you all remember that you're not what you put on your face, but rather what you keep in your heart and in your brain. That's what's truly beautiful.

You are not some kind of a saint because you “still think women are beautiful” without makeup on. You do not get brownie points for not being disgusted by women in their natural state. Some women wear a little makeup, some women wear a lot, some women wear none at all and men’s opinions about it are less than worthless. Because we don’t fucking wear it for you. (Source)

Our #1 Girl Crush...

Happy Monday lovely people of the world! I was recently chatting with my co-blogger, Shawna and we were discussing the amazingness that is Sophia Bush (this happens weekly....). I simply stated that I wanted to be her, end of story. And I'm 100% serious. But not in an 'I'm going to kidnap her and take over as her impersonator' kind of way, more of I want to model myself after her. So why are we girl crushing on this lovely actress? Let's take a look....
B. Davis
For one thing, she played everyone's favorite character, Brooke Davis, on One Tree Hill. Tell me you watched that show and didn't want to be her, cause I'd know you'd be lying. Brooke was a confident & fashionable bad ass who also was a hopeless romantic and taught us all that being vulnerable was okay. Half of my life knowledge can be accredited to the qualities and  knowledge she displayed every week in Tree Hill. I grew  into adulthood watching this show, and while I never slept with my best friend's boyfriend, sat naked in a backseat or got mugged in my clothing store, I can relate to Brooke. She taught me to reach for the stars and to never settle for anything less than my Prince Charming (okay, still waiting on that one...).

the cake, I want it.
Also, Sophia Bush is imperfectly human. SHE'S REAL YOU GUYS. like, look at this picture. This is something very similar that you would find on mine or my friend's Instagrams. But it's more than that. She's not afraid to sit there and say hey, I'm not perfect and I don't expect you to be either. She also supports so many charities, it seems to me she's flawless. She uses her celebrity and money to support good causes, such as Pencils of Promise and I Am That Girl. Speaking of I Am That Girl....
inspirational.
She's all about women being themselves. If you watched OTH, you'll know the motto of B. Davis' clothing line, Clothes Over Bros, was 'Zero is Not a Size.' That was something that she, Sophia Bush, wanted in the show. She wants young women to know that it's okay to be a size 6 or a size 14, it doesn't matter. All that matters is who you are as a person, and that message for young women is important, SO IMPORTANT. Especially as a girl who feels the need to be a skinny twig, I love that she promotes this overall message of being true to yourself no matter what size you are.
her face. her hair. so not fair.
Finally, Sophia Bush is GORGEOUS. Not that that is even remotely important but look at her hair, her face, she's beautiful. I think she's so beautiful not only because of her flippin' gorgeous appearance that God graced her with, but also because of the good heart that she has always shines through. She's busy with being an actress, (on her new show, you haven't seen it? GO WATCH IT) but she still has time to go to charity events and support her ideals and values. Why doesn't everyone love her? Oh wait. They do.

So maybe my girl crush is based on how much I want her good hair, but it's also based on how much I want her good heart. I only hope that one day, I can be as kindhearted, giving, and as wonderful of a human being as Sophia Bush. I'm 99.99993% sure that my cohort would agree. Basically my new life motto is, what would Sophia Bush do?

We Started a Blog Together!

Hello beautiful people of the world! Today, my best friend and I had a brilliant idea to do a collaboration blog, since we both blog about similar topics due to the fact that we actually share a brain. We still have separate blogs, here! and here! but we're going to collaborate on topics such as singledom, female celeb crushes and various activities of a white girl's life. We currently live in separate cities due to college, but we still meet up for future cat ladies of America meetings at Starbucks every now and again. But just for your reference, here are a few things about the both of us...
My name is Sara and I'm in school for fashion and marketing at a small town university in the middle of nowhere. I have no idea what life is about, but I'm quite excited to see where it goes. My favorite color is pink and I am the owner of a fat cat named Princess. I'm currently watching Downton Abbey, so I'm feeling quite sophisticated at the moment; however, I'm usually drinking wine and watching Disney movies.
Hi, hello, I'm Shawna and as my confidant mentioned we have decided to present to the world of the Internets a blog mash up of our thoughts and feelings. Which, yeah, are basically the same in the best possible way. Oh right, about me. So, I am currently studying psychology with a minor in biology at a different small town university, incidentally about 40 miles from Sara. I'm blindly feeling my way through life as most of us in our twenties do, and try my best to keep sane through constant sarcasm and lots of One Tree Hill reruns. I hang out with my dogs more often than most people and put ranch dressing on everything. I read a lot of biographies and cry at cute commercials sometimes. I'm currently watching Grease and drinking diet Coke, but my ideal combination is wine and Disney. Told you we are of one mind.
We sincerely hope that you, the lovely wonderful humans reading this and many posts to come, enjoy your time with us through the increasingly social medium that is the blog. We invite you to read along with our journey through life as we navigate it together, and hope we can act as equally slightly clueless lookouts on the journeys of your lives (we promise we won't be like those guys in Titanic who weren't paying attention and let it hit the iceberg).
Toodles for now, lovely people!!

This is important.
